Laptop
Hokay, so here's the deal:

Last Wednesday, I left to go to my 5-6pm class and realize I forgot my note-taking pen. I had hardly walked a block and returned to get it. Turns out, I must have not remembered to lock the door on the way out the second time. I come back from my class, figured out the door was unlocked, and my laptop was stolen. : (

I didn't even use that pen that period...

So, I need to get a new one hopefully this Saturday. I just now realized that here would be a good place for advice. What do you think of this? LINK

Asus is a good brand, much better than Dell and that other crap...plus that can run NWN2 =p

That's surprisingly a good deal, I like custom stuff more but laptop prices are retarded for what they come with, especially PCUs.

If it's in your budget go for it

Yeah the lack of customization leaves much to be desired; I believe most of the ASUS are as they come from the factory.

I kept building a couple HP laptops that seemed pretty good but they all had these new i3 or i7 processors with hyperthreading at the expense of processor speed. After researching, it appeared that hyperthreading doesn't help for gaming and I was paying extra for something I didn't care for.

Yeah processors have such a bad price margin for what they give you, I only have a 2.6 Ghz without L3 or hyperthreading and it's pretty darn fast.

I'm not positive how ASUS does their Laptops but I'm sure they're better than Dell by far, Dell doesn't like you upgrading anything so they make it a pain to do so-dunno about HP, they have nice cheap blank DVDs? Haha
